Blog Post - Get Your Groove On - New Year Perspective

Published on December 31, 2025 at 7:32 AM

Hello Wonderful People.

The new year is upon us.

How are you? Are you thriving, barely surviving or somewhere in between?

How about….this month...we all work towards thriving.

Life is too short to stay in survival mode for too long. Let’s build the bridge ‘out’ of the quagmire of survival mode. Healthy practices (yoga is just one of them) can make a great difference.

For you skeptics…you might be asking “will healthy practices change what is really keeping me stuck in survival mode. It might be health issues, loss, severe trauma, shaky finances, strained relationships, a barely there spiritual walk or any other issue that may be plaguing us? Can this really help? Yes…and no.

When we show up for ourselves, when we have consistency (healthy, loving and smart consistency), when we keep the promises we make to ourselves and loved ones, and when we try a better way (consistently), magic happens. It’s not really magic. It is predictable. We feel better, we do better and then things begin to change. We improve. Our health gets better, our head gets clearer, our decisions improve and line up with our values, we can focus on what is important, and this helps us to build positive connections, to solve problems and to look for solutions (instead of complaining or looking for the problems).

Will this make all of your challenges go away? No, it won’t. It will make you better equipped to deal with whatever issues you face and help to turn the volume down on the crap that doesn’t matter. Then you will be stronger and have greater availability to focus and pour your energy and heart, into what does matter. Maybe the question we should ask ourselves is 'what matters to you'? How do you put 'this' first and foremost into your daily life, daily effort, daily prayers, daily planning and more. Do you want help with this? Do you want an accountability partner? Do you need support? Let's start today!

So….let’s do this. Let’s start today...now.

Let’s start with the small things and the controllabe things. Let's walk around the neighborhood, let’s read or listen to something positive/productive (suggestions below), let’s reconnect with our faith, let’s hug our loved ones and spend time together, let’s try that business idea, let’s take a class, let’s lift weights, let’s learn how to handle that difficult person, let's do something we’ve never done before (that is healthy and smart) and maybe....let’s meet up at yoga.

I'm rooting for you.
